Wuhu Ecological Environmental Protection Volunteer Association ("Wuhu Ecology") was established in 2009, registered with Wuhu Civil Affairs Bureau in 2013, and was recognized as a charitable organization in 2017.

"Wuhu Ecology" focuses on environmental and health risks in the field of solid waste. Through investigation and research, policy promotion, and industry advocacy, it promotes the construction of a multi-governance system, promotes the balance between environment and economy, and finally realizes a waste-free China.

The field of activity is the whole country. At present, the association has 8 full-time staff, 2 part-time staff, and 90 members. The association has won the Ford Motor Environmental Protection Award, the 7th SEE Ecological Award, the 2nd Environmental Protection Pioneer Award of "Towards Ecological Civilization and Salute to Environmental Protection Pioneers", the first top ten non-governmental public welfare projects in Anhui, and the Ministry of Ecology and Environment's 2021 "Beautiful China I Am Action" "Top Ten Public Participation Cases", and won the honor of 5A-level social organization in 2021.

The pollution prevention and control project is a characteristic project of the association, which involves the supervision of solid waste in the five cities of the Anhui along the Yangtze River and the promotion of clean operation of the waste incineration industry in China. In the past two years, with the support of the procuratorate, a public interest litigation was successfully concluded; jointly held the Wanjiang River Co-governance Forum with Anhui Normal University; promoted the rectification of more than 200 pollution problems and cooperated with members of two sessions to file more than 50 proposals to promote corporate environment The specific legal system such as credit evaluation is perfected with the association’s efforts.

In terms of promoting the waste incineration industry, the association focus on supervisory monitoring, fly ash disposal and automatic monitoring data disclosure and compliance, etc. The association comprehensively obtains information through field research, information disclosure observation, information disclosure application, etc. And release briefings, reports, and proposals of the two sessions and other methods of Advocacy. The association is gradually promoting the rectification of specific pollution problems and has successfully led to a steady increase in the compliance rate of automatic monitoring data. Also, with the association’s efforts, a unified information platform has been officially launched, and fly ash technical specifications have been issued.
